Melissa is a corporate lawyer and the Calgary regional group manager of the Capital Markets and Corporate Commercial Group of a large national firm. Melissa advises both public and private clients in a wide range of industries, including the not-for-profit and charities sector, in respect of transactional matters such as mergers and acquisitions and equity financings, as well as general corporate matters and corporate governance. She is also the co-lead of her firm’s Driven by Women initiative and co-chair of their pro bono committee.
In addition to Fast and Female, Melissa has been a board member of a number of other not for profit organizations, including Storybook Theatre Society and the Canadian Blockchain Association of Women. Melissa is passionate about working with organizations that provide support to girls and women. Melissa has a daughter who is a competitive swimmer and has seen first hand the positive influence sport can have in a girl’s life.
